Ski 4 Cancer with Eddie the Eagle Edwards

Eddie is to take part in the second World Record attempt for the largest number of people to ski the height of Mount Everest (8,848 metres or 29,029 feet) in one day.

Last year Eddie skied with nearly 200 other people who took on this massive challenge!  Unfortunately, only 171 people completed the challenge which was some way short of the 251 total needed to set an official Guinness World Record.  Nevertheless, this is an official Austrian record and a first for Saalbach – Austria’s premier ski area!

This year, the Ski 4 Cancer charity, of which Eddie is a Patron, is hoping that many more people will take part in the challenge!  The challenge will take place once again in the Austrian ski resort of Saalbach on Thursday 9th March 2017.

Like last year, Eddie will be staying at the Rosentalerhof ski appartements in Hinterglemm with the rest of the Ski 4 Cancer team. It’s a great hotel and if you’re heading out to Saalbach or Hinterglemm this season, it is well worth checking out!

Special rates are available for all Ski 4 Cancer supporters – please get in touch with Martin and Andrea at the Rosentalerhof hotel directly for more details. For more information, visit https://rosentalerhof.at

British people are also able to book 7 night packages with Neilson, Ski 4 Cancer’s official partner in the UK.  Seven night packages leave the UK on Saturday 4 March with departures from Gatwick, Manchester and Birmingham.

Find out more about the challenge in the Ski 4 Cancer website. We hope to see you there on World Record day!
